Halloween Shoot

At work, part of our ongoing social media campaign is to film a creative video for Halloween. Plot summary: some employee had to go back to the office after realising he left something behind, then he'll be hearing weird noises and he'll get scared, but turns out it was just the janitor cleaning the office after work hours. Just as the two characters walked out of the frame, a tall creepy figure will be standing behind them, staring at them... guess who's playing that creepy figure... thats right, mwa!!
Anyway, that mask was the only "scary mask" we could find.....

Summer Haze

Did a summer photoshoot at a rooftop garden a while back! This isn't exactly my everyday style but I'm actually into gyaru style as well. Most of my gyaru clothes are from Liz Lisa, one of my favourite clothing brands. These are honestly the prettiest pieces in my wardrobe (´ ε ` )♡  I've also dyed my hair ash brown, and I'm very happy with the results!
Photos are by the lovely and talented Rosemarie Yang. I worked with her quite frequently and I really enjoy working with her! I could communicate my ideas comfortably and she's able to transform them into beautiful images ^__^ do check out her work here: www.challecreatives.com

Wisdom Teeth Removal

I have been dreading this day for months... (ノдヽ) I've heard stories about how painful it could be, and how some people are put to sleep, and how some people do not need to be put to sleep... a few hours before the surgery, I was a nervous wreck. For me, the only painful part was when they inject anesthesia to numb the gums, after that I didn't really feel anything except for some drilling and pulling. I was thankful that another doctor was there to hold my hand during the procedure. (╥﹏╥)

After its done, they gave me painkillers and antibiotic and I could go home (with an ice pack pressed against my cheek). By the time I get home, the anesthesia wore off and I felt immense pain OHMYGOD. I got tears in my eyes, when I try to take the painkiller, I ended up coughing and there was blood everywhere it was like a horror film. I'm sorry this is graphic.

And thus, I look like a balloon for a week.

On a random note, I found this old pic from my graduate diploma days, this was the last presentation I had to do, a poster presentation. I'm not good at presentations / public speaking, so I was nervous and my voice was shaking.
I still remember a lot of moments from my university days, mostly the small things, such as being able to sit in a quiet cafe to write my dissertation, looking back, I do appreciate those seemingly trivial things...

Rainbow Hair

New hair colour: turquoise and purple. I went full blonde just so I can put in these colours. I've always wanted these colours and I'm so happy it turned out good!

Hong Kong Trip 2017

Year-end trip to Hong Kong with the family! -my mum, big brother and sister in law, also my aunt who lives in Hong Kong ^_^ it wasn't as cold as I was expecting it to be, was only 15 - 17 degree aka aircon temperature. I think I packed correctly this time haha. Usually I'd pack clothes which ended up being not suitable for a certain weather - but this time the clothes I brought were the 'right' ones- just right for the weather, not too thick and not too thin.
First- we went to Victoria Peak (also known as simply The Peak, 扯旗山). They say "if you haven't been to The Peak, did you really go to Hong Kong?" although I'm pretty sure I went to The Peak already when I was little..can't remember anything now haha so I thought why not! xD
The view from the Peak was breathtaking - and I've always loved the iconic Hong Kong skyline. It was really windy at the Sky Terrace on top of the Peak Tower, plus a whole lot of sunny-ness and squinting!

Being the massive foodie that I am and a big fan of Hong Kong food, I was of course excited to have my favourite food as well as trying out new places. When I think of comfort food, I think of Tsui Wah Restaurant 翠華餐廳. My favourite has got to be the Shrimp & Scrambled Egg w/ Rice and the Crispy Bun w/ Sweet Condensed Milk (first 2 photos) so simple yet so good >_< (OMG typing this at 3am is not a good idea HAHA).
There's also Hong Kong style milk tea, a must have whenever I'm in Hong Kong, a bit thick compared to Taiwanese/Japanese milk tea but I like it.
Then there's Flipper's - I've wanted to try this ever since I first heard about it. God, this place is always so crowded! There's always a long queue! Flipper's is located at Hysan Place (Causeway Bay), I went there a total of four times, but because the line was always so long I got discouraged every time. I decided to give it another shot and I was finally, finally able to get inside haha :(
I tried their famous Kiseki pancake (plain and with seasonal fruits). These were the lightest, fluffiest pancakes ever it felt like I was eating clouds..yummy clouds(๑>ᴗ<๑)
.
.
.
Last but not least - Cheesecake Factory! One of my favourite places to eat. Cheesecake Factory in Hong Kong has crazy waiting time as well so we went there really early haha. We had pasta with prawns in lemon garlic sauce and red velvet cheesecake for dessert. The cheesecakes there are massive - despite their delicious food I had to remind myself to leave some room for the cheesecake haha >,< I tried different cheesecakes before - vanilla bean, oreo, s'mores..but I think red velvet is still my favourite so far.

We spent some time around mall-ing at Causeway Bay. It was very crowded. I don't think there's ever a time when Hong Kong isn't crammed full of tourists. My mum and my big brother were more keen on shopping but I wasn't, so I walked around and snapped some photos. At some point I found the Line pop-up store at Hysan Place~
Then, we went to Yum Cha to try their famous salted egg yolk custard bun. I've seen videos of this 'custard vomiting' buns somewhere on Instagram haha

We went to Drunken Pot 酒鍋 for dinner, the place is well-known for their Sake bomb, which you can drop in your soup. Didn't know boozy hot pot exist! Sounds interesting, we didn't try it though >.<
We ordered the four soup bases, I can't remember the name but it includes fish maw, chicken, Sichuan-style spicy soup and black truffle and cheese. Ingredients were fresh but the portion was quite small. Overall the food was delicious and we got to enjoy the view from 27th floor.

We also visited Macau briefly :D we went to Ruins of St Paul's, The Venetian and The Parisian.
Tried the famous Portuguese egg tarts too ~

Random but I really like the Intergalactic bath bomb from Lush (´ε` )♡
I love everything about it, the colour, the relaxing scent, the space theme.. It turns the water into a beautiful starry galaxy ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*

Our Hong Kong itinerary was simple - sightseeing, shopping and fooooooood. But I'm also happy to stroll down the streets soaking up the atmosphere and simply enjoy the city buzz (~ ̄3 ̄)~ I'm back in Singapore now and missing Hong Kong already. I look forward to visiting again!

Thanks for reading ^_^ x

Page 1 of 365 (2018)

Happy new year everyone! 2017 has been one of the most difficult year for me, but also a formative one. I've learned how to grow as a person both personally and professionally. I've had my sort of wake up call to make the best of a bad situation, to actually live even when bad situations occur- not just drifting through it (or sleepwalk through it). Despite all the bad things that happened in 2017 I do have a lot to be grateful for. I'll focus on learning how to let go of things and people, how to forgive myself and stop beating myself up over things I have no control of, and to step out of my comfort zone even more. Lastly, I look forward to creating more content in 2018, more videos, photos and blog posts ^_^
Cheers to a new year and another chance to get it right!

What did I do on new year's eve? Hmm
Dun dun dun...

......I SLEPT PEACEFULLY IN MY HOTEL ROOM HAHA

I didn't do much for new year's eve.. I'm in Hong Kong at the moment and my friends asked me to join them at Lan Kwai Fong. But I was so tired as I just came back from Macau on the 31st. My brother and my sister in law went to Victoria Harbour for the NYE countdown and fireworks, I didn't join them because, uh, I'm not a fan of fireworks :X
Plus I was so tired and I just fell asleep whilst being on my phone in bed.

Hope everyone is having a good start to 2018, whether quietly or crazily x
